FL Studio installer refuses to run and says : FL Studio engine launcher has stopped working

Due to the new Data Execution Prevention (D.E.P.) some systems refuse to install & launch FL Studio 5 (in Windows XP sp2) and FL Studio 7 & 8.0 (in Vista). This has been fixed in FL Studio 8.0.2 and later.
This results in a "FL Studio engine launcher has stopped working" message.
