FL Studio installer refuses to run and says: FL Studio engine launcher has stopped working

Due to the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) some systems refuse to install & launch FL Studio 5 (in Windows XP sp2) and FL Studio 7 & 8.0 (in Vista). This was been fixed in FL Studio 8.0.2 and later.

This results in a "FL Studio engine launcher has stopped working" message.

The video below shows how to change DEP settings to prevent this (for Windows XP). Vista has the same settings but will look slightly different.
