I am a Student and I want to buy the Educational version of your software. Are there any differences?
2012/02/17, viewed 12790 times
As a student or a teacher, you can buy an Educational/Academic version of our software from certain shops. Please note that we don't sell single educational licenses from our web shop as we have no way to verify your student/teacher ID.

Here are some FAQ about the educational version:

First, all terms of the End User License Agreement apply (check the EULA section of our Terms of Use page). Once you aren't a student/teacher anymore, you can change your FL Studio educational license to a full FL Studio license for an additional upgrade fee.

1. Are there any differences between the student version and the full version?

Feature-wise there are no differences. E.g., FL Studio producer edition = Educational FL Studio producer edition e.t.c.

Please see the feature comparison page for differences between Producer, Fruity & Express editions.

2. Can Owners of the student version buy or download free updates, plugins and modules?

Yes you can.

You must first register your box version online.
Then order your upgrade for edition, license or additional plugins from our web shop.

FL Studio educational box programs (version 10 and up) include 'lifetime free updates'.

3. What about commercial use of the music produced with FL Studio? In other words, can produced music be sold?

Commercial use is prohibited with any academic version.
A special upgrade from educational to a full FL Studio license is available.
Contact us using a support ticket (signed in users only) for more information.
Check here the definition of commercial use.

4. Is the producer the owner of the music's licences?

Yes.
