FL Studio purchased from a 3rd party store is registered to your account with a 20 digit Serial Code.

If you registered the Serial Key to your Image-Line Account, it is no longer active and serves no purpose other than provide one piece of evidence you own FL Studio. Although alone, this will not be enough as proof of ownership - See here.

See here how to unlock FL Studio after using your Serial Key to add your license

Here is how you can find your Serial Key:

1. From the Box manual:

The 20-digit serial number is printed on a sticker placed on your Getting Started Manual (or sometimes put on the CD cover).

2. From the installed FL Studio program on your computer:

If you have installed the FL Studio Boxed / 3rd party purchase on your computer, then you can retrieve the serial number as follows:

FL Studio 5 or lower / an early FruityLoops box program: Go to the menu Help > About. Here you can find the serial number in the about box heading.

If you have FL Studio or higher:

You will have to check your Windows registry for the serial number.

  1. Click the Windows Start button
  2. Click on the Run option and type regedit.exe into the text entry field and press OK. You will probably need to acknowledge a security pop-up that you want to continue.
  3. Search for the 'Image-Line' entry. The serial number is a group of 5 times 5 letters and numbers.

NOTE: Be careful not to save anything with RegEdit.exe as it is a tool for advanced PC users only.

3. On Mac

If you use FL Studio box on a Mac (with Bootcamp/Windows or as Native macOS) you can use the same system as on a regular Windows PC (options above).
