Problem:
When you try to download FL Studio on WIndows you are redirected to the Microsoft App Store to purchase the FL Studio Mobile App instead.

Why did this happen?
Microsoft introduced a new 'safer' version of Windows.  Windows 10 S or 'Windows 10 Secure' that protects the users by only allowing software to be installed directly from the Microsoft App Store. This is similar to the case with mobile devices that can only use the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android), for example.

Solution:

1. Update your Windows 10 S version to a regular Windows 10 version, its free. Please check the instructions on the Microsoft web site here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4020089/windows-10-in-s-mode-faq

Read the answer under the title: "How to switch out of S mode?"

2. Windows has a setting to set where to get Apps/Programs from.
You can find it here:
Windows 'Settings' -> 'Apps' -> 'Apps & Features' -> 'Choose where to get apps'.
You will have 4 different options:

  1. Anywhere
This will allow ANY app to be installed, we recommend this setting as not every app is in the Microsoft Store.
  2. Anywhere, but let me know if there's a comparable app in the Microsoft Store
This will let you know if Microsoft thinks, that this app also exists in the Microsoft Store, the look can differ, you might have to click on a popup "install anyway" or similar.
  3. Anywhere, but wan me before installing an app that's not from the Microsoft Store
This will let you know quite clearly that this app is not from the Microsoft Store, you should still be able to install FL Studio without any issues.
  4. The Microsoft Store only
This will prevent the FL Studio installation and might bring you to the FL Studio Mobile page inside the Microsoft Store.

Restart Windows after you changed this setting, just to be sure.
