Plugins Stealing Keyboard Focus

Some plugins may steal keyboard focus from FL Studio. You'll notice this behavior when using the 'Typing keyboard to Piano keyboard' option or using the spacebar for transport control.

Solutions to this behavior include either or a combination of the following:

1. Disable 'Typing keyboard priority' (3) on the Plugin Wrapper.

2. Enable the 'Keep focus' option under Wrapper Settings (7).

If the above solutions do not work you must take the following into consideration:

  • Bridging - Bridged plugins always steal keyboard focus when selected (that is their window has been clicked on). You can avoid this by using plugins of a corresponding bit version (32bit or 64bit) as your FL Studio version.
  • Patcher - All plugins within Patcher will steal keyboard focus when selected.
  • Plugin specific - Some plugins just don't forward the key event to FL Studio. Please contact the developer.
  • Detached - Some detached plugin windows steal keyboard focus when in focus. You can avoid this by changing the detached state of the plugin under 'Plugin options'.
