Studio One and not FLStudio. Unfortunately, even if the focus moves to FL, the MIDI device remains loyal to Studio One. The only way round this is to close both applications and reopen FLStudio.

loaded another blank project and then the midi i attempted to import was already loaded into the new blank one. I don't know if my project is bugged or if its a limitation of the midi importing inside FL :/ ...
