Problem: error 'the Fruity soundfont player plugin could not be found'

Fruity SoundFont Player is no longer for sale, only legacy purchases are still supported. Use DirectWave as alternative.

The Fruity SoundFont Player is currently only available in 32 Bit format. Unfortunately it can't be bridged to work in FL Studio 64 Bit.

SoundFont Player does not load in FL Studio 64bit, and gives the error message:

Solution

Your options are as follows:

  1. Make sure to use FL Studio 32bit when you want SoundFont Player to work. You can render out track-length 'stems' (Audio Clips) and load these in FL Studio 64 Bit.
  2. Direct Wave will load most SoundFonts. This will work in FL Studio 32 and 64 Bit.
  3. Use FL Studio 32 Bit VST inside FL Studio 64 Bit as shown below...

Extra information

So what's the problem with 64 Bit? We no longer have access to the source code and so can't compile a 64 Bit version. We may be able to develop a custom wrapper in future but for now attempts to do that have failed and further research is low on the priority list.

For your information: The following features & plugins rely on 3rd party code that is not available in 64 Bit at this time - Buzz Adapter, Edison 'Clean Audio' function*, FL Slayer, Fruity Soundfont Player*, Synthmaker/Flowstone*, Wasp/Wasp XT.
