FL Studio and many of the included plugins are Windows only software. There is no official release on Mac OS X right now.

Will there ever be a native Mac OS X release of FL Studio ?

We are developing a Native OS X /macOS* version of FL Studio. This runs FL Studio directly on Mac OS X, but the program is still in early development and so includes bugs, flaws and missing features that goes along with that. The native version is available only to people who have already purchased FL Studio. A demo version might be available in future when development is closer to an official release. Check the FL Studio for Native OS X progress report.

Alternatively you can run the official release of FL Studio for Windows on an Intel Mac with Boot Camp (running XP, Vista or Windows 7/8/8.1/10).

Full system requirements of FL Studio:

  • 2Ghz Intel Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon 64 (or later) compatible CPU with full SSE2 support. The faster your CPU and more cores it has the more you will be able to do simultaneously. Download and test the trial / demo!
  • 32 or 64 Bit versions of Windows 10/8.0/8.1/7, Vista, XP (service pack 3)
  • (or) Intel Mac with Boot Camp / Windows.
Running XP (service pack 3), Vista or Windows 10/8.0/8.1/7 (in 32 or 64 Bit)
  • (or) Intel Mac with OS X 10.10 for the  FL Studio for Native OS X (ALPHA)*
Attention: Only available after purchase of a program registration (no demo).
  • 1 Gb or more RAM recommended
  • 2 Gb free disk space
  • Soundcard with DirectSound drivers. ASIO/ASIO2 compatible required for audio recording (FL Studio installs with generic ASIO4ALL drivers)

If your system meets the minimum system requirements your actual system resources (memory, CPU speed) that will impose limits on your FL Studio projects. See here for more information on choosing good PC for FL Studio.

The faster your CPU the more channels you will be able to run simultaneously and/or the more effects you will be able to use. The more memory you have the larger the samples you will be able to load.

To find out how FL Studio behaves on your machine please download the demo and try it out for yourself.

As we have several products that run on Mac (eg. Morphine, Toxic Biohazard, Sawer, Sakura, Drumaxx, ...) you will also find an indication in our online shop on which OS the software runs (indicated with Windows and/or Mac icons).
